Trains
The mainline between London and Penzance runs along the outskirts of the village, but Bishopsteignton does not have a railway station. The closest station is at Teignmouth, where services are available to and from Exeter and Paignton (including intermediate stations). For longer distance travel, you may find Newton Abbot station more convenient as there are direct connections to many stations, including London, Bristol, Totnes, Plymouth, Penzance and Birmingham. Arriving in the area by train is a particularly scenic way to travel, since the railway line from Exeter travels alongside the Exe Estuary, then hugs the coastline between Dawlish Warren and Teignmouth, before running up the Teign Estuary to Newton Abbot. Rail services are run by a number of train operating companies, but all timetables can be checked at National Rail Enquiries.
